About University of Cent
The University of Central Missouri (UCM) empowers students to become the heroes of their own stories. With personalized resources, opportunities and support, we ensure each student can succeed and create the kind of future they want. UCM offers 150+ academic programs in Warrensburg, Lee’s Summit and online, making it easy to find the right fit.
We keep costs within reach by providing lower-than-average tuition, and 94% of UCM undergraduates receive financial aid. Our innovative advising through both the Success Advising Center and Online and Learning Engagement helps students stay on track for graduation with personalized guidance. We’re also the only public institution in Missouri with an accredited Counseling Center. We provide free 24/7 virtual counseling and mental health services because we know the personal wellbeing of our students is just as important as their academic success.
UCM is also the only public institution in Missouri to offer an Open Option program that’s designed to place students into courses that count toward their degree completion. Students can explore for up to two semesters until they find the right program – without falling behind or losing time toward graduation. Additionally, UCM helps students with 85+ credit hours complete a bachelor's degree through its individualized General Studies degree.
Our world-class faculty are leaders in their fields. With an average class size of 19, professors get to know students one-on-one. Students are provided with a support team of mentors, advisors and counselors to ensure their success. As their confidence grows, students begin to redefine what they thought was possible for their futures.
UCM is consistently ranked as a top university by U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review, and our top-ranked academic programs are nationally recognized. Our graduates enjoy outstanding outcomes with their degrees, with employers often seeking out our career-ready students. In fact, 94-percent of UCM graduates launch their careers or begin graduate school within six months of graduation.
UCM’s commitment to academic quality has served Missouri and the nation for more than 150 years. Our supportive community challenges students to think deeper, encourages them to go further and prepares them to accomplish more. It’s this support and the belief that every student should have access to a quality education, that powers our commitment of Redefining What’s Possible.
