Accounting II provides an introduction to corporate accounting, giving you the tools to:
- Describe the purpose and ethics of managerial accounting and explain its role in business.
- Determine the characteristics of partnerships, corporations, and similar organizations.
- Identify the types of bonds and long-term liabilities, including accounting for leases and pensions.
- Distinguish between debt and equity securities and between short-term and long-term investments.
- Determine cash flows from the 3 activities: operating, investing, and financing.
- Determine the building blocks of financial analysis and the standards for comparisons.
- Describe and compare job order and process costing systems.
- Describe the types of cost behavior (production and sales volumes) and applications of cost-volume-profit analysis.
- Describe the master and flexible budgeting process and the uses of standard cost information.
- Describe the performance evaluation steps and the managerial decisions of relevant costs, including capital budgeting and investment analysis.
