it is imperative that you pay attention to the lesson overviews. The homeworks do not adequately prepare you for the tests. Also yyou must read and fully understand each chapter before taking the graded quizzes or you will fail.

This course provided a good basic overview of the principles of nutrition and its role in both anatomical and physiological functions. The information provided both a broad look at healthy lifestyles and a more in-depth study of individual nutrients. If you already have a fairly thorough understanding of principles of healthy living, the most helpful aspects of this course may include a deeper understanding of individual nutrients and their effects as well as specific nutritional needs for various life stages.

This course was a very solid nutrition course. I have taken a nutrition course before so much of the material was review but a good course

Easy to understand material, and tests covered textbook material appropriately.

The course was quite difficult. The questions were re-worded, and therefore the questions was not easy to answer. There was not enough time allowed to take each quiz and the midterm exam. Even though the course was not easy, It was a wealth of good information.

This course mapped out the way a person's daily nutritional intake affects daily living. The course also went into detail explaining how each body system uses nutrients to function. Another integral part of the course was how each vitamin and mineral is essential to every human whether in the womb or living life as an adult.

This course will be no problem if you just take your time and READ THE BOOK! The video tutorials provided in the lesson has nothing to do with anything on the test, so don't waste your time with those.

The class is just basic nutrition. Take what you will out of the course cause everyone has different opinions about nutrition

Loved the course. It was very challenging especially with the type of schedule and new born I have in my personal life. But with StraighterLine I was able to put this on hold for a week while I was getting situated with a new work schedule and waking up every 4 hours to feed a baby. It was very difficult to find time to study and read. StraighterLine made it very convenient to work around my schedule and to complete the class.

This course was broken up well and the book is really what helped me stay on track and be prepared for exams and such.
Content Rating Overall Rating -
I enjoyed the course and learned a lot. However, I did not feel the lessons were indicative of what would appear on the exams. I think you could do quite well in the course by just reading the book and taking the exams. Also, I thought the total points for the course were grossly unbalanced. The final alone was 500 points, 50% of the the course grade, and was completed in 2 hours. The other 500 points came from 15 chapter tests and a midterm, and took me 2 weeks to complete. Each question on the final was worth 10 points alone, while each chapter test was only worth 25. This imbalance of point distribution made the class needlessly stressful. Also, whenever I got a question incorrect on a test, the correct answer was never shown. This was extremely frustrating. How could I work on the skills where I was clearly lacking if I did not know what I had done wrong? Also, some of the review activities have strange errors, such as the answer being transi fats instead of trans fats during the review activities, because in the lesson trans is in italics and thus prompted in programming by a letter i following the word to be italicized.

Intro to Nutrition was a fun course to learn about. It taught me a lot about the different aspects of nutrition and will come in handy throughout life when thinking about food and planning meals.

Excellent course. Easy as long as you do the work.

I found the powerpoint presentations accessible and informative and the quizzes within them were based on the material presented. However, the graded quizzes were nothing like the preparatory quizzes and you needed to comb through the textbook to find the answer. One graded quiz asked a question based on a graph that was in the side-margin of the text without specifically instructing the student to reference that page/graph. It was only by chance as I was flipping through the text (after fully reading the material) did I happen to notice a graph about milk consumption in the US. Furthermore, I had issue with some of the test questions. I cannot reference a specific case because I can't access the past quizzes, but there was more than one occasion where the answer was written in black and white in the text and then the question was marked wrong, which was excessively frustrating. Overall, it was a relatively painless way to receive credit for a course, but if you can address the outlined frustrations, I am sure students would have a more favorable experience.
