The University of the Potomac First Year Program: Upon enrollment, the University of the Potomac accepts eight (8) StraighterLine college-level courses for full credit as part of the University of the Potomac First Year Program and accepts two (2) StraighterLine college-level courses as transfer credit "electives."

Here are the eight (8) required courses you will want to take for the First Year Program: Student Success (SUCCESS101), College Algebra (MAT101), General Calculus (MAT250), Economics I: Macroeconomics (ECON101), English Composition I (ENG101), English Composition II (ENG102), Introduction to Psychology (PSY101), and one* science course from the following: General Chemistry I (CHEM101), Introduction to Biology (BIO101), Anatomy & Physiology I (BIO201), Anatomy & Physiology II (BIO202), General Physics I (PHY250), Pharmacology I (PHARM101), Pharmacology II (PHARM102), Medical Terminology (MEDTERM101), or Introduction to Nutrition (NUTRI101).

* Potomac will accept any one StraighterLine science course (from the list above) as transfer for Potomac Science requirement.

For the two (2) elective courses needed for the Freshman Year Program, choose two (2) courses from the following: Business Statistics (MAT150), Accounting I (ACC101), Managerial Accounting (ACC150), Introduction to Business (BUS101), Business Communication (BUS105), Business Ethics (BUS106), Organizational Behavior (BUS120), or Personal Finance (FIN100).

Students who have previously taken StraighterLine's PHY251 - General Physics II course may transfer these credits to University of the Potomac as SCIE312 - Environmental Science and Sustainability (StraighterLine's PHY251 transfers in replacement of Potomac's SCIE312. (For example: StraighterLine offers Physics II, but presumably the student took Physics I beforehand.)). Students who have previously taken StraighterLine's PHY251L - General Physics II with Lab course may transfer these credits to University of the Potomac as SCIE312 - Environmental Science and Sustainability (StraighterLine's PHY251L transfers in replacement of Potomac's SCIE312. (For example: StraighterLine offers Physics II, but presumably the student took Physics I beforehand.)).
