About Vanguard University of Southern California
Vanguard University of Southern California is a leading private Christian university in the heart of Orange County, California.
Vanguard offers traditional undergraduate, professional studies (accelerated evening courses), and graduate programs. The school believes a student’s education goes beyond a diploma, that knowledge gained in the classroom is just one part of a student’s journey. As a part of this educational philosophy, Vanguard’s students learn from professor-mentors with real world expertise.
Vanguard offers a variety of bachelor’s, professional study, and master’s degrees – many of which are fully online. There are 14 departments in the undergraduate college which offer students 32 distinct fields of study. The professional studies program offers certificates in business, nursing, psychology, theology, early childhood, and anti-human trafficking. Graduate programs include master’s in clinical psychology, organizational psychology, leadership studies, theology, and education.
A special area of focus for the school is its professional studies program which offers individualized tracks for professionals working towards associates, bachelors, and certificates. One such program is its Early Childhood track.
Vanguard University’s Online B.A. in Early Childhood Education
Vanguard’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) degree program is intended to be highly flexible and transfer friendly. It is fully online and students are encouraged to meet their gen-ed requirements through StraighterLine. Classes are available year-round and students can choose the start date that fits their schedule best.
Vanguard’s early childhood program also provides concentration opportunities, including STEM/STEAM and Special Education. Students are able to fill concentration requirements without taking extra courses or credits.
99% of ECE students transfer in from other colleges. Most complete all required early childhood major courses in a year.
The majority of students who enroll in the program already work in the ECE field. However, students new to early childhood education are also encouraged to enroll. Those who need an internship and/or job opportunities will be connected with early childhood education centers through school administrators.
