The mission of Nichols College is to transform today’s students into tomorrow’s leaders through a dynamic, career-focused business and professional education. The school is also very transfer friendly and does its best to ensure that most credits transfer – up to 90 semester credit hours depending on the program. In the past year, Nichols worked with its new transfers to accept 98% of their credits.

About Nichols College

Nichols is a small, private, non-profit college focused on professional development and personal empowerment. With over 25 undergraduate degrees and certificates, four master’s degrees, and five MBA tracks– many of which are fully online–Nichols is constantly evolving their curriculum with feedback from today’s top employers to ensure that every one of their graduates is ready to compete and succeed. Nichols is a college of choice for business students looking for a family atmosphere with deep personal connections to students and faculty. The school offers an experiential business curriculum with a strong liberal arts foundation that is enhanced by the scholarship of real-life practice and pedagogy. A special area of focus is its Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program. The school’s online BSBA is geared towards busy adult learners looking to finish a degree or just starting out.

Their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration is transfer friendly and designed to be highly convenient for adult learners. The school’s Evening Online Program is fully online so students never have to come to campus to attend class. Nichols does its best to ensure that most previously earned credits transfer to the school. Students are encouraged to transfer any existing courses–up to 90 credits max–as well as meet their gen-ed requirements through StraighterLine. The school also offers Credit for Prior Learning where students can earn credit for information learned outside the traditional classroom setting (i.e. work experience, certifications, etc.) Students can earn up to 45 credits for experiences outside the classroom. Nichols’ online BSBA program runs in 7-week sessions, six times a year. Students will receive 1 of 5 degrees in this program: Accounting, General Business, Human Resource Management, Management, or Criminal Justice Management. Nationally, Nichols is ranked as 9th best business school for salary potential and 8th Best Value Business School by Payscale.com and was awarded “Best Business Education” by the Worcester Business Journal’s Best of Business reader’s poll from 2016-2020. Students generally finish their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in two years or less, depending on how many credits they transfer into the program.

Earning Your Degree

By partnering with StraighterLine, Nichols College makes it convenient for students to fulfill the school’s gen-ed requirements. This is particularly helpful to students who are looking to earn their degree in less time or want to take advantage of the flexibility that self-paced online classes offer. For the online BSBA, up to 30 transfer credits can be earned directly through StraighterLine. Transfer students interested in attending the Evening Online Program should connect with the Nichols admissions team to explore the most effective way of transferring and completing their gen-ed requirements. The application is free and students will have a 48-hours turnaround on their admissions decision once all their required materials are received by Nichols. BSBA graduates are prepared for a wide variety of careers in business. The accounting, economics, and finance specializations prepare students for careers involving analytics, theories, and quantitative problem-solving. The management and international business specializations prepare students for careers that require solid critical thinking and communication skills. 96% of 2019 Nichols College graduates were employed or in graduate school within 6 months of graduation.
