Jobs that Don’t Require a College Degree“Top 14 Jobs That Don't Require a College Degree,” a recent article on the ABC News site, lists 14 jobs that promise security, a decent living wage . . . but which don’t require a college degree. The list was developed by CareerCast using data from the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Here are the jobs that made the list . . .

  1. Web developer. Median salary: $75,660. Projected employment growth through 2020: 22%.
  2. Communications equipment mechanic. Median salary: $54,710. Projected employment growth through 2020: 15%.
  3. Electrician. Median salary: $48,250. Projected employment growth through 2020: 23%.
  4. Paralegal assistant. Median salary: $46,680. Projected employment growth through 2020: 18%.
  5. Plumber. Median salary: $46,660. Projected employment growth through 2020: 26%.
  6. Industrial machine repairer. Median salary: $44,160. Projected employment growth through 2020: 19%.
  7. Glazier. Median salary: $36,640. Projected employment growth through 2020:  42%.
  8. Automobile body repairer. Median salary: $34,660. Projected employment growth through 2020: 17%.
  9. Administrative/executive assistant. Median salary: $34,660. Projected employment growth through 2020: 12%.
  10. Bookkeeper. Median salary: $34,040. Projected employment growth through 2020: 14%.
  11. Pest control worker. Median salary: $30,340. Projected employment growth through 2020: 24%.
  12. Skincare specialist. Median salary: $28,920. Projected employment growth through 2020: 25%.
  13. Receptionist. Median salary: $ 25,240. Projected employment growth through 2020: 24%.
  14. Hair stylist. Median salary: $22,500.  Projected employment growth through 2020: 14%. 

But Why Not Earn a College Degree Anyway?
It’s true that you won’t need a college degree to get started in one of the jobs that are listed above. But why not go ahead and earn a college degree anyway? Now that you can do it online without interrupting your career, you can have your educational “cake” and eat it too.
