Once you’ve completed General Physics I, General Physics II is your next step down the road to a science degree in Astronomy, Chemistry, Seismology, Oceanography, and of course, any Physics-related field. The two courses are frequently required for majors and careers ranging from engineering to teaching, aeronautics, the space program, biology and medical science.
In online General Physics II, you’ll study electricity and magnetism, from basic principles and Coulomb’s law to electromagnetic induction. You’ll examine the properties of sound waves and light waves, and learn how to reflect and refract them using physical and geometric optics. Then you’ll journey inside the atom to study atomic and nuclear physics, including wave/particle duality, quantum effects and nuclear reactions. The course emphasizes problem solving, including calculus, with numerous interactive examples.
