Partnership focuses on competency of college material rather than seat time as a measure of student success.

Alexandria, VA – StraighterLine , announced today that Western Governors University (www.wgu.edu) a leading provider of online higher education, has joined the list of partner colleges working with StraighterLine to award college credit for its online college courses.  StraighterLine partner colleges are accredited institutions that provide college credit for students who successfully complete online college courses from StraighterLine. Students who successfully complete StraighterLine courses may transfer their credit when they enroll with Western Governors University to complete their degrees. Students who take their freshman and introductory classes from StraighterLine can save thousands of dollars on a college degree by enrolling in StraighterLine’s tuition subscription program. It costs $99 per month plus $39 per course started. In addition to being reviewed by partner colleges, StraighterLine courses have been approved by the American Council on Education’s (ACE) Credit Recommendation Service and have met or exceeded the Distance Education and Training Council’s (DETC) standards for online course quality.
