Most Americans think of Ireland as a land of rolling green hills and quaint country inns. But Ireland is something else too – a country that offers excellent, reasonably priced higher education to its citizens. In the last few years, a growing number of American students have discovered the excellent value and quality of Irish university education. More than 1,000 American students are now attending Irish universities, thanks to the efforts of an organization called Education Ireland.
Tuition costs at most Irish universities cost between about $12,000 and $20,000. That’s significantly less than the cost of comparable American universities. And in the coming weeks, Education Ireland will present high-profile events in Boston and Chicago that will introduce American students to the benefits of attending Irish Universities.
“Over the last year, we have embarked on a campaign to increase our visibility in the US,” Gill Roe of Irish Education tells StraighterLine. “And our latest series of events aims to showcase Irish higher education to high school counsellors, high school students and their parents. The events include student fairs in Boston and Chicago on September 27th and 28th respectively and fourteen of our top institutions are attending.”
