Founded in 1870, The University of Akron is now a vibrant community within metropolitan Akron, with more than 80 buildings located on 218 acres of beautiful campus. Today, the University today serves approximately 29,300 students who are enrolled in associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate and law programs – as well as in 100 certificate programs. Campuses are located in Ohio’s Summit, Wayne, Medina and Holmes counties. The University is also expanding its online college course offerings. The University has been accredited by the North Central Association of Schools and Colleges since 1914.
