    New Study: Record Numbers of College Grads Are Filing for Bankruptcy We are living in a topsy-turvy world. The latest piece of evidence? Researchers have found that college grads are filing for bankruptcy in record numbers.  In fact, more college grads are filing for bankruptcy than just about anybody else. I mean, I thought college was supposed to increase a person’s odds of earning a good living and becoming economically secure, right? But it turns out that in a growing number of cases, the opposite is true.     Recent High School Grads Still Believe that College Is Worth it, Despite the Cost “One Year Out,” a new study conducted by Hart Research Associates for the College Board, finds that a majority of recent college graduates believe that going to college is still a good idea, despite the high cost. The survey polled 1,507 students who graduated from high school in 2010. Note that not all of the respondents who were polled are currently attending college. In fact, 76% of them are not currently enrolled. Let’s take a look at what the survey found about what this group is thinking . . . College is still worth it. Maybe You Better Think Again “The Least Rigorous Colleges,” a recent post on The Huffington Post, presents a list of colleges and universities that are top picks for students who don’t want to work too hard. The list is surprising because it contains some pretty well-established schools with strong reputations – places like SUNY Binghamton, The University of Wisconsin Madison, and even Northeastern University.
