Student Testimonials

"When I ask a question it is answered within 24 hours. You don’t get that everywhere. WGU is running a tight ship."

"My mentor validates all of the work I do and is always looking out for my best interests. She encourages me but also keeps things realistic for me,"

Shannon Adams, Martinsville, IN

While Shannon frequently entertains the idea of coaching or mentoring high school students in addition to teaching, she is focused on completing her bachelor's degree first. As the first person on her side of the family to receive a bachelor's, she knows she will graduate from WGU with a quality education that will allow her to transition fully into her next career. "I have no doubt I will be prepared to be a good teacher. This degree means so much to me and my family. It means that I am one step further into my intellectual potential. It means another woman may go into science so she can change her corner of the world," said Shannon.  Shannon hopes to continue on at WGU after completing her bachelor’s degree and pursue a master's degree.
