If you’re studying to be a doctor or a nurse, this course is not for you. But for the rest of us, taking an online First Aid/CPR course couldn’t hurt. And if you’re planning on a non-medical career in healthcare, it might be just what the doctor ordered.
The key to effective first aid is assessing the situation, and that’s where you’ll start your training. Do they need rescue? Can they be moved? Then you’ll study medical emergencies, like heart attacks and strokes. You’ll learn basic life support including CPR, choking responses, and how to use a Defibrillator. Find out how to apply first aid for external injuries, like breaks, bleeding and burns and to treat poisoning and bites. Because you never know where you’ll need it, the course also teaches you how to apply first aid in remote locations or the wilderness, deal with environmental emergencies like heat, cold, or anaphylactic shock, and how to assist in childbirth.
