Award of Credit & Accreditation
StraighterLine's courses have been recommended for credit by the American Council of Education (ACE). Ask the college in which you want to enroll whether they award credit for ACE evaluated and recommended courses. StraighterLine's partner colleges have agreed to award credit directly for StraighterLine's courses. All of StraighterLine's partners are regionally accredited -- the highest level of quality assurance recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. To receive credit from a partner institution, you must enroll at that college after completing StraighterLine courses. To enroll in a college, you usually must have earned a GED or high school diploma.
Transferability of Credit
The transferability of credit between a partner college and any other college is at the discretion of the accepting institution.
Academic Honesty
Honesty and integrity are as highly valued at StraighterLine as they are at any of StraighterLine's Partner Colleges. Plagiarism, cheating, or other types of academic fraud will result in the reduction of points associated with the fraudulent assessment to zero. Students may appeal such penalties through a Course Advisor.
Student Code of Conduct
StraighterLine has created a Student Code of Conduct, the tenets of which apply to all student conduct--whether academic or administrative. By taking a course at StraighterLine, all students agree to comply with these policies.
- Students are responsible for completing and submitting all graded assessments personally and will not permit another student, a family member, or other person to act on his or her behalf in the completion of graded work
- No student will present another's written work as his or her own
- Students agree that all answers to application or registration information questions are true
- No student will share passwords or other account access information for StraighterLine's or its partner's websites
- No student will act to create a hostile or threatening learning environment
- Students will report known violations of this code of conduct as soon as possible to Course Advisors
Violations of the Student Code of Conduct may result in the immediate removal from StraighterLine's learning management system and the restriction of access to any of StraighterLine's affiliate websites.
