Scheduling a Proctoring Session
To schedule proctoring, log in to your MyLine account and click on your course. Select “Schedule Proctoring” from the list of options. This will direct you to ProctorU where you will complete your profile and schedule examinations. Please remember to schedule your proctoring session 72 hours in advance to avoid any fees.
Having trouble scheduling proctoring? Make sure your pop-up blockers are turned off. You can manage your pop-ups in your browser settings.
Instructions to disable pop-ups in Google Chrome:
- If pop-ups have been blocked, you’ll see the blocked pop-up alert icon in the address bar. Click the icon to see a list of the blocked pop-ups.
- Click the link for the pop-up window that you’d like to see.
- To always see pop-ups for the site, select “Always show pop-ups from [site]”. The site will be added to the exceptions list, which you can manage in the Content Settings dialog.
To cancel your membership please log in to your MyLine account and select the account menu in the upper right hand corner. Then, select “Billing Preferences” and select “Cancel Membership”. You will be asked a few questions and then will need to select “Cancel Membership” for the final time.
Contacting a Student Advisor
There are many ways to reach out to the Student Support team. You may call and speak with a student advisor at 877-787-8375, submit a support ticket through your MyLine account, or engage in a Live Chat.
Submitting an Assignment
When submitting assignments, you will first want to complete you assignment and save it to your computer. Then, Locate and click the appropriate link for the assignment upload area. Then, select the My Submissions tab, which will direct you to the upload area. Click "Choose File" to select the file you wish to upload and select "Add Submission".
Reviewing Assignment Feedback
You can view grader feedback if you return to the My Submissions link. If the assignment has been viewed by a grader, you will see a blue pencil icon. If this icon is not visible, this means the assignment has not yet been graded or reviewed. If the assignment was submitted through Turnitin, you can hover your cursor over the blue bubbles to reveal the grader’s remarks.
Being Notified When an Assignment Has Been Returned/Graded
Unfortunately, you will not always be notified when your assignment is graded or returned. You will want to check back in your course to see when the grade is available. Typically, assignments are returned within 5 business days.
Knowing What is Allowed During Final Exams
When you click on the final exam within the course you are first presented with an information page that will outline what materials (if any) you are allowed to use during your final exam. This section will also detail the time limit of the exam, the number of questions, how many points the exam is worth and the topics covered.
You can access tutoring directly through your course by selecting the “Tutoring” link. Tutors can help explain concepts, ideas and problem solving. Remember, tutors do not have access to your course, but are subject matter experts. Therefore, you will want your questions prepared when you begin your tutoring session.
Calculating the Current Percentage in a Course
To calculate your current percentage in you course, you will take the total number of points you have achieved, and divide that number by the total amount of points you have attempted.
Understanding How StraighterLine Calculates the Grade in a Course
The grade you see in your course is calculated by dividing the total amount of points you have achieved by the total amount of points available in the course (typically 1,000).
Understanding How "Completion" Works
In order for your course to be considered complete, all required course work must be attempted and submitted. Required course work may consist of graded and ungraded assignments. Anyviolations may prevent your course from being considered complete and/ or eligible for transfer.
Reviewing Past Exams
Return to your exam you wish to review. At the bottom of the instructions and exam information you will see a section regarding your attempt and an option for “Review”. Clicking on the “Review” link will show your answers (correct and incorrect) and the solutions.
Retaking a Course
To retake a course, you must log in to your account and repurchase the course you wish to retake. If your membership is active, you will only be charged the course fee. Once repurchased please allow a maximum 24 hours until your course is reset in your account.
To transfer your StraighterLine course work, please log in to your MyLine account and select the link for “Send Transcript” located on your MyLine profile. Then, simply fill out the form and proceed through the steps. Your transcript will be processed and sent typically within 72 hours of the request.
Creating an ACE Account
To request your ACE transcript please log in to your ACE account and proceed to the section regarding submitting courses. (If you do not have an existing ACE account, please proceed to the ACE CREDIT Registry and Transcript system here and complete your registration).
Once logged in, please select your courses from “Course Search”. You will need to list StraighterLine as the organization. From there, you will be able to choose the StraighterLine courses you have completed and select “add to transcript”. Please provide an estimated completion date and select “Submit for Review”. Once your courses have been approved, you will be able to send your transcript to your institution.
ACE has an initial $20 registration fee, which includes the first transcript; all other transcripts thereafter for ACE are $15.
