Scope of Work:

Qualified individuals will work with StraighterLine to expand course resources, keep courses current, add new features and develop new courses. The following tasks may be included in the scope of work:

  • Review/correction of test bank questions.
  • Creation of new/alternative test bank questions relevant to the content and text
  • Mapping of identified open educational resources to the course content and text
  • Mapping of free/open text books (as an alternative to the proprietary text(s) already mapped to the course content
  • Revision and update of exams
  • Review of lesson materials to identify gaps in content, errors in content, broken links and/or bugs
  • Development of alternative course formats
  • Identification , deployment and evaluation of new features
  • Creation of rubrics for final examinations (if applicable)
  • SMEs will be engaged on a weekly basis as required with SL staff to identify deliverables and coordinate changes.

StraighterLine is seeking a Director, Partner Marketing to drive partner marketing strategies with our growing base of academic and employer partners. This position is responsible for building and testing marketing strategies that leverage our academic and corporate relationships and ultimately lead to student growth. An understanding of how to market via on-line marketing channels such as display, e-mail marketing, social media, and search is required. This is an opportunity to join a fast paced, small and growing company that is revolutionizing higher education.

Core Responsibilities:
  • Develop and test on-line marketing campaigns that leverage our employer and academic partnerships to exceed student growth targets
  • Develop and test website targeting programs to academic and employee audiences
  • Work with the Analytics team to develop thought leadership and white papers that illustrate the benefits of partnering with StraghterLine
  • Determine the strategy and optimize e-mails to partner-generated student prospects and customers
  • Work with the Analytics team to conduct quantitative assessment of Marketing tests and recommend and implement ideas for continuous campaign improvement
  • Write creative briefs and give creative direction to internal and external designers and copywriters
  • Liaise with Marketing peers to execute marketing programs

Desired Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience with on-line customer acquisition in a test and learn environment (A/B and multivariate testing) required

  • Develop architecture documentation based on business requirements: sitemaps, wireframes, user interaction models, task flows, conceptual diagrams, prototypes and navigation maps
  • Liaise with peers in Technology, Student Support, and Creative/Web Development to implement projects that improve user experience
  • Conduct intelligence gathering on website conversion and usage via data analysis, interviews, working sessions, focus groups, competitor analyses and usability testing
  • Conceive, execute and analyze website A/B testing strategies
  • Manage a small team focused on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategies and implementation
  • Manage web content projects and contract resources
  • Work with Marketing Analysis to analyze website effectiveness
Desired Skills & Experience:

Media include e-mail marketing, web/paid advertising, cobranded marketing, and website content and marketing. We are looking for a proven leader with a track record for providing exceptional direct response creative assets with strong communication, creative, and time management skills. Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize best practices to conceptualize and produce graphic design and content for all online and offline marketing collateral
  • Determine strategy and testing plan for creative in conjunction with Marketing & Analytics teams
  • Proofread content and materials for spelling, style, content and assure consistency in terminology, voice, branding and message in communications
  • Work closely with Development to ensure the seamless collaboration and overlap of UX and Graphic Design
  • Direct all phases of outside contractor creative work from concept through production

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum 4 years of design experience in a B2C marketing company

Technical Development



StraighterLine is seeking an experienced Director of Data Warehousing to fill a leadership role. This individual will own responsibility for all aspects of enterprise data and reporting and as such will play a key strategic role within the growing StraighterLine organization. The successful candidate will need to be both a get-it-done, hands-on leader as well as a strategic thinker able to turn ideas into action. Responsibilities will include technical leadership of enterprise data and ownership of all enterprise reporting and dashboard development, playing a leadership role in the enterprise’s overall information strategy. This position reports directly to the CMO with dotted line responsibility to the VP, Technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the data warehouse and its roadmap
  • Manage reporting and dashboard development and roll-out
  • Design, build and launch new data models in production
  • Design, build and launch new data extraction, transformation and loading processes in production
  • Interface with business owners, engineers, and product managers to satisfy day-to-day data needs as well as to lead overall enterprise information strategy direction
  • Design, develop, test, launch new reports and dashboards into production
  • Build data expertise and own data quality
  • Define and manage SLAs for all ETL jobs, reports and analytics
  • Support all existing ETL and data quality processes running in production
  • Work with Development to triage issues and drive to resolution
  • Manage and implement on-going operations of hosted data solutions including security, user admin, and other administrative requirements
Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Computer Science , Engineering, or Mathematics focus preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in data warehousing
  • Expertise writing complex SQL queries
  • Experience with MySQL databases and Unix/Linux operating system
  • Hands on experience performing data profiling
  • Experienced with schema design and Dimensional data modeling using Kimball methodology
  • Hands on skills building custom reports and dashboards (Pentaho preferred)
  • Solid experience in ETL design, implementation and maintenance (Pentaho preferred)
  • Ability to analyze data to identify deliverables, gaps and inconsistencies
  • Excellent communication skills to both technical and non-technical audiences
