At StraighterLine, our mission is to help students reach their educational goals by providing an affordable and convenient way to earn online college credit. We're also committed to improving lives in our community here in Baltimore.
Our team recently had the opportunity to support our neighbors at The Baltimore Station, an innovative therapeutic residential treatment center, by helping prepare and serve dinner to a group of veterans. Since, 1991 the organization has helped veterans who are transitioning through the cycle of poverty, addiction, and homelessness to self-sufficiency. Eight employees from various departments at StraighterLine, including finance, marketing, operations, and front line support, enjoyed swapping stories with our neighbors and sharing a meal. As volunteers, we were grateful for the opportunity to serve these amazing veterans, individuals who have served our country so well.
Here’s some insight into why Straighterline employees enjoy giving back and being involved in the local community:
"One of the things I really love about working at StraighterLine is the company's drive to help others. We do it every day through our mission to save students money on earning their college degrees, and we do it in our community through volunteering events. It is a great feeling to give back to our city and also very humbling to have the opportunity to interact with members of the community that need support." – Stacy Ruddy, Marketing Manager
“I love StraighterLine's commitment not only to providing a better way to achieve higher education, but also its dedication to give back….. I really enjoy being involved with our community service events, giving back to Baltimore, and also spending time with my coworkers outside of work!" – Kerry Nagle, COO
At StraighterLine, we enable students to complete their degrees on their own terms, and on their own schedule. We’re also pleased to enable our employees to give back to community here in Baltimore.
