About Pine Manor College 

Overview - Pine Manor College (PMC) is a small, private four-year liberal arts college that prepares students to become effective leaders in their professions and in their communities.  

History – Pine Manor College was founded in 1911. It was chartered in 1930 as an independent junior college and authorized in 1959 to confer Associate's degrees. The College moved to its present campus in 1965. Pine Manor has awarded Bachelor's degrees to women since 1977. Beginning in 2005, men and women could earn the Masters in Fine Arts in Creative Writing and since 2011, both men and women may earn an Associate degree.

Mission - “Pine Manor College educates and empowers a diverse student body to become accomplished, reflective, and confident leaders – one student at a time.”

Degrees offered - Pine Manor College awards the Bachelor of Arts degree to women. Associate and graduate degrees, continuing education, and summer school programs are offered to both women and men.

Athletics – Pine Manor College is proud to have its Gator teams compete in basketball, cross country, soccer, softball, and volleyball. In addition, the college is home to a vibrant program of intramural competition.

Financial aid – More than 90% of students receive financial assistance, which may include need-based and merit-based scholarships and grants, loans, and work-study positions. The staff of the college’s financial aid office is dedicated to making sure that every deserving student will be able to attend the college.

Campus and accessibility – Pine Manor College is located on 60 wooded acres in the Chestnut Hill section of Brookline, Massachusetts, five miles from downtown Boston. The College is accessible by both automobile and public transportation. The campus is located just off Route 9 and is a 10-minute walk to the Chestnut Hill Station of the D branch on the Green Line of the "T," Boston's trolley and subway system. The College provides regular shuttle service to and from the train station when classes are in session.
