Frank Sinatra Was a StraighterLine Student

“I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway. And more, much more than this, I did it my way.Yes there were times I'm sure you knew when I bit off more than I could chew. But through it all when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out.I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way.”

- Lyrics to “My Way”

Well, today’s headline bends the truth a little. Frank Sinatra did not take any classes at StraighterLine.

But when you think about the lyrics to “My Way,” one of his most famous songs, it makes you think that if we reviewed our registration records, we’d find that Sinatra really did take classes here.

We included a brief excerpt from those lyrics above. Don’t you think they reflect the life philosophy of students who take online courses for college credit?

Students who . . .

  • Question the rules that most people blindly accept.
  • Find a way around life’s obstacles.
  • Do what they have to do to reach their goals.
  • Don’t worry too much about other people’s opinions.
  • Get the job done.

So, did Frank Sinatra take online college classes at StraighterLine?  Well, not really. But if he were around today, we think he might have been one of our fans.
