A World without Borders for International Students

Recent events in Egypt show that when students connect online, they have the power to change the world.

There’s no mistake about it – the Internet has created a new international community of students who can share ideas and motivate each other without ever meeting face-to-face.  And there’s more to this trend than Twitter of Facebook. Online learning is part of the picture too.

Online learning breaks down international borders. It is no longer necessary for a student in Egypt – or France, or Poland, or China – to attend college in just his or her own country. All of them can now take online college courses that come from other countries too.

We see this trend here at StraighterLine, where a growing number of non-U.S. students are taking American college courses online. It is exciting to realize that a student from Egypt or any other country can start earning American college credits today, without applying for a visa, leaving home, or undergoing the hardships that faced international students in years past.

Greetings and congratulations to our brother and sister students in Egypt and around the world.
